About the competition

Men’s category

We’ll start the bench press competition 15-20 minutes after the scaling, due to the proper warm up. The order of the competitors will be drawn before the scaling. After the drawing, we’ll scale the competitors bodyweight, and we put this weight on the bar (including the bar’s weight, which is 12,5kgs). The target is to do regular bench presses with your own bodyweight as many as you can.

Correct technique of the bench press:

You can ask for assistance to lift the barbell out of the rack. After this, the assistant releases the bar. During every bench press, the bar should hit the competitors chest, and you have to extend your arm fully, during the press. We’ll won’t count the irregular repeats. Dont stop after a bad repeat, the next rep still can be good. You can try only once. You can hold the bar or put your legs wherever you want, it’s your choice.

Women’s category

We’ll start the bench press competition 15-20 minutes after the scaling, due to the proper warm up.

The order of the competitors will be drawn before the scaling. After the drawing, we’ll scale the competitors bodyweight, which will help us to calculate the final result. The target is to do a bench press, with the heaviest possible weight. For the result, we’ll divide the pressed weight by the weight of the competitor. The highest value will be the winner.

Correct bench press:

You can coose weight three times. If you fail with a weight, that also counts. You can ask for assistance to lift the barbell out of the rack. After this, the assistant releases the bar. During every bench press, the bar should hit the competitors chest, and you have to extend your arm fully, during the press. If the bar does not hit your chest, or your arms are not straight, then it is an irregular repeat, and doesn’t count. You can hold the bar or put your legs wherever you want, it’s your choice.
